Topic Transition

This is a collaborative conversation.

Recently, I came to the realization that some may be asking why I blog about being trans and issues affecting our communities so much on a writer's blog, and I thought to answer this question.

The reason it is important for a voice or voices to come forth and speak on a specific or particular experience from lived experiences is that oftentimes people do not encounter the language for their own experiences until they hear it in another's.

Furthermore, some communities have very little representation and others are exposed to them very little.

Exposure is the best way to combat harmful biases, practices, and ideologies.

Additionally, in a space like my blog, I am being a willing participant in divulging what I feel comfortable sharing.

Each trans person has a different experience and cultural reference point.
