The Typewriter Revolution: Book Review of Bodies in Transition
Longtime ally in more than one way both in academia and on the typosphere, author of The Typewriter Revolution, among his many other accomplishments, Richard Polt reviews G. Gazelka’s poetry collection Bodies in Transition with a lens for the context of this time: “Why do so many people take pleasure in cruelty toward those who already feel so much pain? Why do some politicians choose to encourage this cruelty by scapegoating a small and endangered population? Why are so many so bent on reinforcing images of masculinity and femininity that boil down to silly stereotypes.” He forwards the book as something that even if you don’t lean left, or you’re not trans or queer, you can still find something in it, for as Gene says, “they are worthy of love just as I am.”
